Purpose

To inform Community about the activities of Department: Technical Services and Facilities Management (Electrical Section).

Background

The Electrical section is overseeing all the maintenance of the electrical infrastructure for Naledi Local municipality, to render the good service and secure a source of revenue to the Municipality. It is also responsible to maintain the electrical installations of all the municipal buildings and to maintain street lights and high masts. The responsible artisans under electrical section who are doing day to day activities are: electricians, with their electrician aids and labourers, as well as machine operators (Truck Drivers).

Motivation

The purpose of Maintenance plan is to see that all the municipal infrastructures is maintained, In general preventative maintenance is conducted via regular scheduled inspections. Upgrading and replacement of aging infrastructure is also planned. Unplanned maintenance (breakdowns) have a major impact on service delivery, but also on any planned work that must be postponed due to the urgent matter of restoring power.
