Town Planning and Building Control Unit


Town Planning and building control is central on the advancement of development through promoting an integrated town dedicated to addressing the past spatial imbalances and strives towards development that is vibrant, resilient and sustainable urban & rural communities. The urban and rural areas’s that are under discussion and makes up the jurisdiction of Naledi Local Municipality are Geduldspan; Kameel; Stella; Devondale; Broedersput; Dithakwaneng and Vryburg (where the offices are based). 

Town Planning

Town planning is a dynamic unit that deals with various services i.e. provision of zoning information and processing of various land use applications i.e. rezoning, subdivision & consolidations to, to name a few. The unit also deals with outdoor advertisement within the jurisdiction of the Municipality. 

The following are available documents, for noting, that can help guide Land Use and Land Development applications with the Naledi Local Municipality:

  • Naledi Local Municipality Spatial Planning and Land Use Management By-Law, 2015;
  • Naledi Land Use Scheme, 2020; &
  • The Naledi Local Municipality Spatial Development Framework (SDF) and the Vryburg PrecinctPlan are simultaneously undergoing public participation and they are intended for adoption sometime this year (2022)

NB: The three (3) aforementioned documents can only be provided to the public upon request from interested parties. Currently, there is a chargeable fee for the SDF and a zoning certificate request(s). The SDF request process will be determined once it is adopted. 

Building Control

The building control unit assists with building plans procedures (plan submission and approval/disapproval thereof); copies of building plans; inspection of new buildings, additions to and alterations of existing buildings and customer service to name a few. 

For building plan applications, kindly contact the building inspectors.

Herewith attached are the following forms and other documents:

  • Land Use and Land Development application form;
  • Zoning certificate, copy of Land Use Scheme and a Copy of SDF (applicant to tick the relevant request box);
  • Outdoor Advertising application form;
  • Tarrifs 

NB: banking details and various vote numbers to be used as reference for the different types of applications can be provided.
